Product Specs

Form
Lyophilized powder
Note: We prioritize shipping the format currently in stock. However, if you have a specific format requirement, please indicate it in your order notes. We will fulfill your request whenever possible.
Lead Time
Delivery time may vary depending on the purchase method and location. Please contact your local distributor for specific delivery time estimates.
Note: All proteins are shipped with standard blue ice packs. If dry ice shipping is required, please inform us in advance as additional fees will apply.
Notes
Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4°C for up to one week.
Reconstitution
We recommend centrifuging the vial briefly before opening to collect the contents at the bottom. Reconstitute the protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. For long-term storage, we recommend adding 5-50% glycerol (final concentration) and aliquoting the solution at -20°C/-80°C. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50% and can serve as a reference.
Shelf Life
Shelf life is influenced by various factors, including storage conditions, buffer components, temperature, and the protein's inherent stability.
Generally, liquid form has a shelf life of 6 months at -20°C/-80°C. Lyophilized form typically has a shelf life of 12 months at -20°C/-80°C.
Storage Condition
Store at -20°C/-80°C upon receipt. Aliquoting is essential for multiple use. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Target Background

Function
In the nervous system, Entpd2 can hydrolyze ATP and other nucleotides to regulate purinergic neurotransmission. It exhibits only marginal hydrolysis of ADP.
Gene References Into Functions
  1. NTPDase2 and -3, ecto-enzymes expressed in the enteric nervous system, play a protective role against gut inflammation in experimental colitis and show altered expression in Crohn's disease. These findings suggest that purinergic signaling, modulated by E-NTPDases, governs neuro-immune interactions relevant to Crohn's disease. PMID: 28472257
  2. Schistosomiasis primes mesenteric endothelial cells to a pro-inflammatory phenotype, characterized by increased expression of NTPDases 2 and 3, leading to ADP accumulation and mononuclear cell adhesion. This may contribute to mesenteric inflammation and schistosomiasis morbidity through P2Y1 receptor signaling. PMID: 26924460
  3. Analysis of single and double knockout mice indicated that NTPDase2 and P2Y1 receptors are not essential for murine eye formation. PMID: 25504514
  4. NTPDase2 appears to function in scavenging mitogenic extracellular nucleoside triphosphates in neurogenic niches of the adult brain, acting as a homeostatic regulator of nucleotide-mediated neural progenitor cell proliferation. PMID: 25205248
  5. Data suggest that NTPDase2 is the dominant form in taste buds, as knockout mice lack NTPDase2 and ATPase enzyme activity in their taste buds. PMID: 23959882
  6. The medial habenula contains a specific perineuronal nonstellate subtype of astrocyte that expresses NTPDase2, strategically positioned to modulate purinergic transmission. PMID: 22865704
  7. Findings indicate the presence of the ecto-nucleotidase NTPDase2 and functional P2X receptors at hippocampal progenitor cells. PMID: 15884037
  8. In the mouse retina, NTPDase2 is predominantly localized in Muller glia and ganglion cell processes. PMID: 19116950
