Function
SBT5.4 is a serine protease that exhibits a substrate preference for hydrophobic residues phenylalanine (Phe) and alanine (Ala), and the basic residue aspartic acid (Asp) in the P1 position. It also shows preference for Asp, leucine (Leu), or Ala in the P1' position. Notably, SBT5.4 interferes with CLAVATA 3 (CLV3) signaling but does not cleave CLV3.
