Target Background

Function

This antibody targets SGR9, an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. SGR9 accepts ubiquitin from an E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme via a thioester bond, subsequently transferring it to target substrates. Its function involves modulating amyloplast dynamics and sedimentation in statocytes during gravitropism in inflorescences, hypocotyls, and roots. This modulation likely occurs through the regulation of amyloplast interactions with actin filaments (AFs) within endodermal cells.

Subcellular Location
Plastid, amyloplast. Note=Localized at amyloplasts within gravity-sensing cells.
Tissue Specificity
Expressed in seedlings, hypocotyls, roots and stems. Present especially in hypocotyl and inflorescence endodermis, as well as in root cap columella, tissues that act as statocytes.
