Function
SQD2 antibody targets the enzyme responsible for transferring the sulfoquinovose moiety from UDP-sulfoquinovose to diacylglycerol during sulfolipid biosynthesis. Sulfolipids are crucial for maintaining a negatively charged interface between lipids and water within photosynthetic membranes, essential for their proper function. Furthermore, sulfolipids may serve as a substitute for anionic phospholipids under conditions of phosphate limitation.
