Function
The signal-recognition-particle (SRP) assembly plays a vital role in directing secretory proteins to the rough endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane. SRP9, in conjunction with SRP14 and the Alu portion of the SRP RNA, forms the elongation arrest domain of SRP. The complex of SRP9 and SRP14 is essential for the binding of SRP RNA.
