Target Background

Function
TRAP proteins are components of a complex that binds calcium to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane. This binding regulates the retention of ER resident proteins. TRAP proteins may be involved in the recycling of the translocation apparatus after protein translocation is complete, or they may function as membrane-bound chaperones to facilitate the folding of translocated proteins.
