Function
TRAPPC12 is a component of the TRAPP complex, which plays a crucial role in the early stages of endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi apparatus trafficking. Additionally, TRAPPC12 is involved in chromosome congression, kinetochore assembly and stability, and regulates the recruitment of CENPE to the kinetochores.

- Research has indicated that variants in TRAPPC12 can lead to progressive childhood encephalopathy. Fibroblasts derived from affected individuals exhibited a fragmented Golgi, which could be restored by expressing wild-type TRAPPC12. PMID: 28777934
