Function
This antibody targets Trpt1, an enzyme that catalyzes the final step of tRNA splicing. This process involves transferring the splice junction 2'-phosphate from ligated tRNA to NAD, ultimately producing ADP-ribose 1''-2'' cyclic phosphate.
Gene References Into Functions
Research has shown that inactivation of the Trpt1 gene, which encodes the sole known mammalian homolog of Tpt1p, eliminates all detectable 2'-phosphotransferase activity in cultured mouse cells. However, this inactivation has no measurable effect on spliced Xbp-1 translation. PMID: 18094117
