Function
Thioredoxin h5 (TRX3) is a thiol-disulfide oxidoreductase that exhibits both disulfide reductase and insulin disulfide bond reducing activities. Under heat shock conditions, TRX3 undergoes oligomerization and forms high molecular weight (HMW) complexes. This process is accompanied by a functional shift from a disulfide reductase to a chaperone.
