Function
TTN-1, a serine/threonine-protein kinase, plays a pivotal role in muscle assembly and function. It contributes to the delicate equilibrium of forces within the sarcomere by establishing connections between individual microfilaments. The extensibility of the sarcomere in muscle is significantly influenced by the size and flexibility of these cross-links. In non-muscle cells, TTN-1 is implicated in chromosome condensation and segregation during mitosis. It may potentially link the lamina network to chromatin or nuclear actin, or both, during interphase.
