Target Background

Function
OPS Antibody plays a critical role in plant vascular development. It potentiates primary root protophloem differentiation, a crucial step in the formation of vascular tissues. Furthermore, OPS, in conjunction with VCC, is essential for the development of embryo provasculature and the complexity of cotyledon vascular networks. It also regulates root architecture and mediates the recruitment of ASK7/BIN2 to the plasma membrane, influencing downstream signaling pathways.
Gene References Into Functions
  1. OPS and OPL2 are the first identified genes involved in the differentiation of metaphloem sieve tubes, which are essential for long-distance transport of sugars and other molecules within plants. PMID: 28877333
  2. The phosphorylation status of OPS at residue S318, rather than its predominantly shootward polar localization, is a key determinant of its activity. PMID: 28652362
  3. OPS plays a pivotal role in vascular differentiation by interpreting longitudinal signals that trigger the transformation of vascular initials into differentiating protophloem cells. [OCTOPUS] PMID: 22395740
