Function
YefM is an antitoxin component of a type II toxin-antitoxin (TA) system. It functions as an antitoxin that counteracts the effect of the YoeB toxin. YefM binds to the promoter region of the yefM-yeoB operon, repressing transcription. Notably, YeoB acts as a corepressor in this process.
