Phosphodiesterase (PDE) c is an enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of cyclic-di-GMP (c-di-GMP) to 5'-pGpG. Cyclic-di-GMP is a crucial second messenger that regulates cell surface-associated traits in bacteria. Overexpression of PDE c is known to reduce biofilm formation.
